Dr. David Hedden, BSc MD FRCSC

Dr. David Hedden joined the Department of Surgery, Section of Orthopedic Surgery, in 1998 as Assistant Professor.

Dr. Hedden completed a Bachelor of Science in 1979 at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. In 1984 Dr. Hedden completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Cape Town. He then went on to an Internship at Addington Hospital, Natal University Medical School, South Africa Rotations in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery and Medicine. Dr. Hedden then completed his Residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Manitoba 1997, attained a Clinical Fellowship in Adult Reconstruction and Trauma at the University of Toronto.


Dr. Eric Bohm, BEng MD MSc FRCSC

Dr. Eric Bohm joined the Department of Surgery, Section of Orthopedic Surgery, in 2002 as Assistant Professor and advanced to Associate Professor in 2010. In 2017, we was promoted to full Professor.

Dr. Bohm completed a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and his medical training at McMaster University. He then completed his Orthopedic Residency at the University of Saskatchewan and in 2001, attained a Fellowship in primary and revision arthroplasty at Dalhousie University. In 2002, Dr. Bohm completed a MSc in Community Health and Epidemiology at Dalhousie University.





Dr. Colin Burnell, BSc MD FRCSC

Dr. Colin Burnell joined the Department of Surgery, Section of Orthopedic Surgery, in 2003 as Assistant Professor.

Dr. Burnell completed a Bachelor of Science and his medical training at University of Manitoba. He then completed his Orthopedic Residency at the University of Manitoba 2002, attained a Fellowship in Adult Hip and Knee reconstruction at the University of Manitoba.





Dr. Thomas Turgeon, BSc MD MPH FRCSC

Dr. Thomas Turgeon joined the Department of Surgery, Section of Orthopedic Surgery, in 2005 as Assistant Professor. In 2017, he was promoted to Associate Professor.

Dr. Turgeon completed a Bachelor of Science and his medical training at University of Western Ontario. He then completed his Orthopaedic Residency at the University of Saskatchewan. He attained a Fellowship in Arthritis and Reconstructive Surgery affiliated with the University of California San Diego and simultaneously completed his Master’s Degree in Public Health at San Diego State University.

Restoring quality of life to thousands

The Concordia Joint Replacement Group (CJRG) consists of four fellowship trained arthroplasty surgeons who perform approximately 1,400 primary and revision hip and knee replacements per year at the Concordia Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Affiliated with the University of Manitoba, the group is involved in undergraduate and post-graduate medical training.

The group employs the most current techniques for primary hip and knee replacement surgery, revision hip and knee surgical techniques from a posterior and direct lateral approach. Along with our outstanding clinical and research infrastructure we also offer a friendly work environment with an excellent working relationship amongst all staff and surgeons.
